Love your voice, Love yourself

The Naked Voice, with Chloë Goodchild

4th July 2009

Inside Out Retreats celebrates the fourth anniversary of its launch with a very special guest, Chloë Goodchild, singer, author, and founder of the Naked Voice.

Something out of the ordinary happens when we move from speaking to singing. It awakens your real sound - the naked voice inside you, dissolves your fear, and introduces you to a spontaneous, true and joyous life of your song. Join in this engaging and playful day of self-inquiry through sound awareness, deep listening, energy and spontaneous movement to experience and express a new language of love. The Naked Voice awakens the call to presence, and to a shift in consciousness, from a love of power, to the power of love. Your Naked Voice invokes the capacity to embody and express your true nature in ways that you never imagined possible.

This introductory day grants a clear understanding about ways to sing and chant using structured and spontaneous techniques including simple vowel sounds, mantras, personal and ancestral songs, simple improvisations, unison and multi-part harmonies, alongside movement and meditation practices to support your everyday life.

Deafness in childhood catalysed Chloë Goodchild’s fascination with inner sound and the singing voice as the most intimate vehicle for spirit, unhindered by the limitations of social conditioning. Having travelled worldwide, exploring a wide perspective on voice and sound, in search of “an embodied compassionate singing”, Chloë founded The Naked Voice after a transformative experience in Northern India. The remarkable range and depth of Chloë's singing is powerfully demonstrated in her albums 'Devi', Grammy-nominated 'Sura' and 'Fierce Wisdom', as well as on the CD single 'Singing Field'.
